DESCRIPTION:A broad coalition of groups across the country has called for a coordinated “ICE Out for Good” Weekend of Action to demand accountability\, honor the life lost\, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.  Join us Sunday\, January 11 at noon\, at the corner of Gurley St and Montezuma St in downtown Prescott. \nA core principle behind all ICE Out for Good events is a commitment to non-violent action and no civil disobedience. Participants are expected to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values\, and to act lawfully at these events.  Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Wednesday\, February 25th for another spectacular event and presentation! \nAdvocates for Immigrants: What is a Rapid Response Team? \nIn response to increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity\, communities across the country are forming rapid response teams—community-based networks designed to document\, monitor\, and respond to ICE actions in real time. This month’s luncheon will feature two Verde Valley activists\, Julie Fernatt and Anne Emerson\, who will share their firsthand experiences building rapid response teams in their community\, and explore how similar efforts can be expanded throughout Yavapai County. \nThe luncheon meeting is held at the Centennial Center. (1989 Wineglass Dr\, Prescott) \nRegistration for the luncheon is REQUIRED so we can get an accurate meal count to The Center. Please email events@dwpaaz.org for any reservations with payment at the door\, cancellations\, ticket transfer requests\, special accessibility or financial needs\, or luncheon questions. \nREMINDER : Doors DO NOT open until 11:00am. DESCRIPTION:The Democratic Women of the Prescott Area (DWPA) is hosting its annual gala in honor of women’s history month on Saturday\, March 21\, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Prescott’s historic Hassayampa Inn. This year’s theme\, Spirit of the Suffragists\, celebrates the courage and determination of those who fought for equality—and those who continue that fight today. \nProceeds from the gala support a variety of grassroots and organizing efforts aimed at advancing civic participation and timely collective action at critical moments across Yavapai County. Gala funds also enable DWPA to award annual scholarships\, including four $2\,000 scholarships this year\, to highly motivated high school seniors in our communities. \nWe are honored to welcome Arizona Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari— the youngest woman serving in the 119th Congress\, the first Iranian American Democrat elected to Congress\, and the Democratic Freshman Class President— as our keynote speaker. The evening will also feature special addresses from JoAnna Mendoza (candidate\, AZ-06) and Jonathan Nez (candidate\, AZ-02). \nDoors open at 5:00 pm with scrumptious appetizers and a cash bar. Try our signature “Dames Collins” and “Democratic Daiquiri” cocktails! \nYour selected dinner includes a complimentary glass of house wine\, a salad\, and chef curated mini dessert bites. \nSeating is assigned. You can purchase multiple seats to ensure seating with friends.
